Reflexology

Reflexology is a treatment which can be performed on the feet, hands, face or even ears.
By applying pressure through specific movements to targeted areas, the treatment can support your body to rebalance, re-energise and rediscover its healthier self.
Having completed a Level 5 Clinical Reflexology course and further training in areas such as Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage, I can adapt my treatment for your specific needs. I will carry out a detailed consultation with you to establish a treatment plan personalised to your needs and goals.
Reflexology could help you with:
- Fertility journeys (both partners) from pre-pregnancy to post natal
-Perimenopause and Menopause
-Hormonal balancing
-Cancer treatment
-Palliative care

-Insomnia
-Migraines and headaches

-Improving low energy levels
-Digestive issues- Anxiety, depression and stress (including exam stress)
-Shortening of recovery times following injury/surgery

What do sessions look like?
At your first appointment, I complete a detailed consultation with you. I will ask you about your medical history, and any medication or supplements you are taking. We will explore your goals for  the treatment. You will need to allow around 90 minutes for this first session.
In this initial appointment, you will also be given a mini treatment while we complete the paperwork. If you have chosen to have reflexology on your feet, we will begin with a relaxing foot spa and scrub. For all foot treatments, it is best if you wear loose clothing that allows me to treat the leg from the knee down.
If you have chosen hand reflexology, your hands will also receive a gentle cleanse and scrub. For all hand treatments, it is best if you wear clothing that leaves the arm bare from the elbow down.
Once the paperwork is complete (this takes about 20 minutes), it is time for you to have your first reflexology treatment.  The treatment themselves last for 60 minutes, unless your agreed treatment plan suggests that something shorter is more suitable (this is most likely to be the case with oncology and palliative care plans). Treatments to support specific conditions such as lymphatic drainage are offered at no extra charge.
At the end of each treatment, we take some time to discuss your treatment and how it felt. This enables me to continually update your treatments to make them most effective. We will also discuss what you can do between treatments to make the most of your reflexology sessions.

The Healing Response
A healing response is a common reaction to complementary therapies. You may feel tired, nauseous  or have a headache as your body seeks to rebalance itself. As well as physical responses, you may feel more emotional. These symptoms should not last more than 48 hours. You may also find that you sleep very well, feel energised and positive. Please do talk to me about what you have experienced post-treatment whether positive or negative as it will help to inform your treatment plan.
After your treatment, I would suggest that you avoid alcohol, caffeine and excessive exercise for the following 24 hours. Taking time to rest and ensuring that you are having enough water/fluids will also help you to make the most of your treatments.
